What is Wordpress Platform?
Wordpress is one of most sophisticated software out there that allows you to quickly and easily build a website. Even famous companies use it, such as:
- CNN
- Forbes
- Ebay.... and others.
Why? It has a lot to do with Wordpress key features for instance:
- Free Software. Mostly maintained by volunteers all around the world. Constantly updating it with new features and fixing bugs.
- Easy and quick to use. Later on, you'll see how simple it is to make an impressive website without having any coding knowledge at all.
- Very powerful tool considering you can use plugins to transform your website to whatever you want.
- Search engine friendly. Google loves Wordpress websites.

What is the Difference Between Wordpress.com and Wordpress.org?
When people start they commonly get confused because they find two different websites. You got http://www.Wordpress.org and http://www.Wordpress.com now what's the difference?
Wordpress.com allows you to make a completely free website. I recommend this option if you're looking to make a casual website but not for business, why?
1. All your content will be stored in their servers. You'll be wasting a lot of time writing articles, adding images or videos etc... to a website that doesn't even belong to you.
2. You can't have an unique domain name. You'll get something similar to this: www.example.wordpress.com that doesn't look very professional.
3. You can't use plugins which are one of the most powerful options from Wordpress.
4. A reduced selection of themes. Themes is the design for your website.
Wordpress.org allows you to download the full version of Wordpress with everything included. But for you to install it, you need to have a domain name and web-hosting account. In the next videos, I'll show you how to get both.

This is the back end of your website, it's where all the magic happens. Initially, it might seem quite complicated since you have plenty of options to choose from. But as you start using it you'll eventually see how simple it is. Over here you can:
- Change the appearance of your website basically with a snap of your fingers.

- Alter the options in your navigation bar
