18 - How To SEO Your Wordpress Website
Welcome to the eighteenth video from this series. In this one you will learn how to search engine optimize your website. This way you can better rank on Google, Yahoo, etc. As a result, receive more traffic.
For this, we are going to install a plugin called, "All In One SEO" and configure it. In the end of this video, I will explain how to add keywords to your page permalinks or URL.
I know this might sound complicated but it's quite simple. You don't need to be an expert to properly SEO (Search Engine Optimize) your Wordpress website. But let's talk about the basics...
What Is SEO?
Search engine optimization consists in configuring each page of your website by adding specific keywords, aka search phrases that you want to rank for in the SERP (search engine results page).
What Are Keywords?
When you want to search something in Google you commonly write something in their search box query. For instance, "How to SEO Your Website?"
Afterward, you get a page with several results aka SERP. Basically, you want to SEO your website so you appear in the first page of these results, sure for terms belonging to your niche.
The first page is the one that receives the most traffic, especially the first three positions.
Why Is SEO Important?
SEO makes your website more visible to the search engines, such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.
They can more easily determine what your Wordpress website content is about and better rank it. This is a very important long-term strategy so you can receive more free traffic from the search engines.
If you choose the correct keywords for your website you'll receive high-quality traffic willing to read your content and even buy your products.
Always remember that each page can rank for different terms. Therefore, you must consider to SEO each of them properly so you can get the maximum traffic possible.
